David Victor Schaade, age 86, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2011.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Paul (Sharon) Schaade and
Mark (Cheri) Schaade;
5 grandchildren: Christa (Jason) Waln, Jonathan Schaade, Elizabeth, Robin and Matthew Schaade;
several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Arlene D. Schaade; parents, Herman and Anna Schaade; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. Directly at Life Point Church, 7350 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Raymond Bocken officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, Nov. 6th from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until 5:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).
David was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific and European Africa Middle Eastern Campaigns. David was a charter member of Hessville Assembly of God Church, former board member, church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and deacon. He volunteered for many years working in the Hammond Jail Ministry, the Hammond Rescue Mission and was a member of the Gideon's. David loved the Lord and his life was a reflection of that love of his savior and his church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorials be made to the Gideon's Hammond Camp.
