Dennis Neil Conroy, age 75 of Hammond went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2013, surrounded by his family,
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty, (nee, Hammond); 5 children:  Michael Conroy, Dennis (Debbie) Conroy, Patricia Conroy, David Conroy, Tim (Dawn) Conroy and daughter-in-law Diane Gilbert; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a host of dear friends, including Orland and Cindy
Preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Brian Conroy and Genisis Conroy; great granddaughter, Kaylee Derks; parents, Dennis Joseph Brady and Sylvia Conroy.
Skip was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Co as a Senior System Analyst after working for over 36 years.  He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and served as a Deacon for many years.  Skip loved wood working, model railroading and bowling.  Skip spent many years coaching baseball and as a Boy Scout Leader.  He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Bears fan.
A wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and a dear friend to many.  Skip will clearly be missed by all who knew him.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville) from 2-4 and 6-8.  There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at 10:00 a.m.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Christian Fellowship Church, 605-165th St., Hammond with Pastor Michael Matiscik officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends  are invited back to the church after the Cemetery service for  food and drink to Celebrate Skips' wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Dennis' memory to Hospice of the Calumet Area or to Christian Fellowship Church.
