Dolores T. Thompson, age 83, of Hammond, formerly of Dyer, entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, June 5, 2015. Survived by her Loyal life partner Harold Broertjes, son Mark (Janet) Thompson, 3 grandchildren, sister Barbara (Tom) Ford, 2 nephews and several cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, Loral and Lillian Deen and brother Bill Deen.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Roy Moffitt officiating. Private entombment at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Dolores was born in Hammond, and was a graduate of Dyer High School. She was long time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hammond. She was active in the adult choir for over 30 years, a member of the Best Years Club, New Life Sunday Sunday School Class and the South Pacific Missions Circle. Dolores was retired from Keyes Fiber "Huhtamki" in Hammond. She was a life member of VFW Post 802 Auxiliary and American Legion Allied Post 369 Auxiliary, the Golden Times Club and the North Township Senior Club. She loved her Grandchildren and her cats and was a loving, caring and devoted friend to many.
