Domingo S. Davila, age 51, of Hammond passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Mary Frances (nee, Kielbasa) Davila;
4 children, Jennifer, Rachael, Anthony and Andrea;
Parents, Antonio and Virginia Davila;
3 brothers: Ricardo (Sheila), Raul (Juana) and Jesus (Malena) Davila;
1 sister, Juanita Davila;
father and mother-in-law,
Edward and Darlene Kielbasa, Sr;
brothers and sisters-in-law: Edward (Sherri) Kielbasa, Jr., Lori Seljan, Mike (Donna) Kielbasa, Susie McDonald, Michelle (Mark) Wagner, Jeff (Cindy) Kielbasa and
Kim (Beau) Reynolds;
godson, Jesus "Chuy" Davila;
Special aunt and uncle, Phil and Debbie Anderson;
Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his nephew, Tommy Kielbasa and grandma, Frances Dittrich.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley officiating. Cremation will follow.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, August 22nd at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Domingo was born on November 6, 1960 and was a 1979 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School. He was employed at CSX Transportation for 11 years, and loved his job as a communications maintainer. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Domingo loved coaching his daughter's basketball team at Eggers School and also for the Hessville Youth Hoops. He was the #1 fan of his children.
He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. Domingo was a loving family man and always willing to help others. Therefore it was fitting that he donated his corneas, giving someone the gift of sight.
