Donald Howard Darrah, Sr. of Owatonna, MN, formerly of East Chicago passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Donald is survived by one daughter, Debbie (Paul) Panfil of Hebron, IN

2 sons: Donald Darrah, Jr. of Blooming Prairie, MN and

Daniel (Janet) Darrah of Owatonna, MN;

6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren;

one sister, Phyllis Bostwick of Hammond.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie of 53 years.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Dyer Baptist Church, 735-213th Street, Dyer with Pastor Lee Atchinson officiating.

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, April 12, 2015 for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m. There will be a time of viewing at the church Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m.

Donald was a retired machinist from Whiting Corp. in Harvey, IL.  Before moving to Minnesota he had been a faithful member of Dyer Baptist Church. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as Sergeant during the Korean War, earning one bronze star. Don was a loving and kind father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
