Donald "Don" H. Tomaszewski, age 76, of Hammond, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 28, 2014.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Marie Tomaszewski (nee, Lett);

4 children: Daniel (Sally) Tomaszewski,

Larry (Jennifer) Tomaszewski,

Gary (Tamara) Tomaszewski and Pam (Trever) Kinley;

11 grandchildren;

1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Irene Tomaszewski and one brother, Eugene Tomaszewski.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 30 ^th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Private cremation will follow the service.

Don was born and raised in Chicago, Il and has lived in Hammond for over 40 years. He was a faithful member and greeter at St. Thomas More Church in Munster. Don was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Am Vets Post #43 in Burnham, IL. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren; they were the "joy" of his life. Don was a loving husband and father, and a devoted grandfather who will be dearly missed. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
