Donna Lee Adkins, age 75, of Hessville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
She is survived by her 3 children:
Dan Adkins, Sheila Adkins and James (Helen) Adkins
5 grandchildren: Erica (Ron) Reilly,
Ryan (Kim) Adkins, Brandy (Jason) Hutcheson,
Amber (Brad) Vollrath and Brittany Adkins
7 great grandchildren: Kole and Victor Hutcheson, Zach and Nikki Vollrath, Allyssa and Madison Adkins, Pheobe Reilly;
1 brother, James (Mary) Goodwine;
2 sisters, Wanda (late, Sidney) White and Barbara (late, Jewell) Hendricks
2 sisters-in-law, Alta and Sue Goodwine;
1 brother-in-law, Will Hoggatt; many nieces, nephews, a host of dear friends and her companion, her cat, "Oliver".
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Rex B. Adkins; parents, Bert and Velsie Goodwine; 2 brothers, David and Ralph Goodwine; 2 sisters, Ellorea Kuhn and Evelyn Hoggatt.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, November 30th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Donna was a resident of the Hessville section Hammond
for over 55 years and a faithful member of Hessville Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her cat, Oliver; he was her constant companion and friend.  Friday nights were always spent playing cards with her sisters and niece. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her life. Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt whose family was her number one priority; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
