Dorothy M. Lannin, age 88 of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, September 4, 2011.
She is survived by her grandson Jon (fiancée April Patterson) Lannin. Great grandchildren: Cecelia Utter, Timothy Lannin, Max and Destiny Burress. Nieces Mary Lou Graves and Gayle (Larry) Mitchell.
Daughter Eugina Wells and her children Michael and Jennifer
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31yrs George Lannin and her son and pride and Joy, Timothy Lannin. Parents John and Lydia Krumm, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.DIRECTLY at Concordia Lutheran Church 7441 Grand Avenue, Hammond IN 46323 with Pastor Ronald Saatkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, September 7th at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville from 4 -8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9am until the time of the service at 10am at Concordia Lutheran Church.
Granny was a resident of the Hessville section of Hammond since 1946. She was a faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she was active as a Ladies aide, member of the choir and was the little lady that sent cards for all occasions to church members. Granny was a dietician who had worked for school city of Hammond and volunteered as a lady Lion and as a Troop Mother in Boy Scotts. She enjoyed gardening, cross word puzzles , knitting and sewing. Granny was a loving mother a devoted grandmother, great grandmother and a dear friend to many. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be preferred.
