Earl N. Griffin, Sr. age 74, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his 4 children: Terrilynn (Chuck) Hasty,

Cathy Charlene (Randy) Clardy,

Earl N. (Gidget) Griffin, Jr. and Jeannie (Ray) Anderson;

son-in-law, Jim Woodke;

numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren;

3 brothers: Wilbur (Mary) Griffin, David (Phyllis) Griffin and Jerry (Karen) Griffin;

Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Diane Jackson Griffin; daughter, Lorraine Woodke; grandson,

Walter Charles Hart II; parents, Wilbur and Louise Griffin; sister, Elizabeth Ann Griffin and one brother, Nathan Wayne Griffin.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, March 2 ^nd from

10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Earl was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and made his home in the Hessville section of Hammond. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church. Earl owned Griffin Heating and Air Conditioning in Lake County. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. Earl was a family man who enjoyed restoring antique cars, coin collecting, hunting and was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan.
