Edna Cichocki, age 88, was ushered into the arms of God on Sunday, February 17, 2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle (John) Tokarz of Hebron;
2 sons: Frank "Rick" (Karen) Cichocki of Dyer,
Thomas (Debra) Cichocki of Hebron;
7 grandchildren: Dr. Frank R. (Rosie) Cichocki, Jr.,
Aaron (Karen) Cichocki,
John Tokarz III,
Lisa (Jeffrey) Wells,
Aubria Cichocki,
Dr. Brandy Cichocki and Alicia Hayes;
11 great grandchildren;
1 sister, Ethel Schiffer; several nieces,nephews and many dear friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Frank Cichocki on March 11, 1997; daughter, Paulette Canaday in 1995; parents, Stanley and Josephine Pierscinski; 2 sisters, Stella and Helen; 2 brothers, Casmir and Leo.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley, celebrant. Private cremation will follow.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Edna was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and made her home in the Hessville section of Hammond. She was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church; and a former member of the V.F.W. Post #7881 of the Ladies Auxiliary. Edna was an avid quilter and loved doing ceramics, crafting and needlework. She formerly owned the Needle and Knots Store in Hessville. Edna was a loving and devoted mother, "busia", great grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
