Edward Stanley Frunk, age 90, of Highland, formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 happy years, Regina Leona (nee, Szafarczyk) Frunk;
daughter, Kathleen (Joseph) Warzecha and one son, David (Betty) Frunk;

grandchildren: Ann (Eric) Fetzer, Steven and Julie Warzecha and Stephanie Frunk;
great grandchildren: Emily and Ethan Fetzer;
brother, Anthony Frunk; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Geroge Frunk and Katherine Myszak; sisters: Frances Tryka and Josephine Nackman; brothers: John and Stanley Frunk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with at time of viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the mass at 11:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Charles Mosley celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Our Lady of Czestochowa Mausoleum, Calumet City, Il. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
Ed was born and raised in Hammond, a 1939 graduate of Hammond Tech. High School and member of the high school band. Ed attended Purdue University Calumet. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Africa and Italy during WWII. Ed was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 428. After working for BP Oil for over 40 years Ed retired in 1985. He was a member of the Arco Illiana Retirees. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, an active member and president of the Holy Name Society and past member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
