Ellen K. Poole, age 64, of Wheatfield formerly of Hessville , passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, William "Bill" E. Poole; 3 children: Sherri (Patrick) Zaremba of Chesterton; Darin (Alisha) Poole of Denver, CO and Kristen K. (fiancé, Chuck Segars) Poole of Wheatfield, IN 4 grandchildren: Siara and Samantha Zaremba; Savana and Ashlyn Poole

2 sisters: Sharon Faye (Jerry) Hafford of Eldorado, IL and Judy Ann (Scott) Zaremba of Madison, WI;

2 brothers: Harvey Lester (Diane) Barrett of WV and

William Keith (Drema) Barrett of Fayette Co., WV

Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, including Demetri and Ariann Zaremba and Frankie Aliff

2 favorite grand puppies, "Petie" and "Reiley"

Preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Doris Barrett; and one brother, Mickey Wayne Barrett

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10AM at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Dr. Roy Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Angel Crest Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, February 13 ^th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Ellen was a resident of the Hessville section of Hammond for 35 years before moving to Wheatfield 7 years ago. She was a former "Team Mom" for the Hessville Little League during their 1993 championship. Ellen loved flowers and enjoyed gardening and listening to her 50's music. She was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Wheatfield Paramedics, nurses; Heather, Brenda, Gloria and Stephanie at Porter Hospital and Dr. Narasemhan for their tender loving care.
