Emma Jane (nee, Brookman) Waugaman, age 88, of Hessville entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2012.
She is survived by her 4 children: Jane Martin,
Rita (Dennis) Roper,
Carrie Maxberry and
Patrick (Maurine) Waugaman;
19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great- great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family wishes to acknowledge their grateful appreciation to George "Eddie" Moisant for the love and care he showed to Emma.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Waugaman; 3 sons: Ralph, Jack and Art Waugaman;
2 sons-in-law, Conda Martin and Mark Maxberry; parents, Arthur and Iva Brookman; 2 sisters, Lois May Davis and Jean Medford.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), with Pastor Scott Wells officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, Jan. 15th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Emma was born on April 20, 1923 in Hammond and was a member of the Gate Church. She loved working crossword puzzles, watching stock car and auto racing, going on picnics and "outings". Emma had a "green thumb" when it came to her garden, her roses were spectacular. Emma loved being a homemaker, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother and will be dearly missed.
