Evelyn C. Bevill, age 80 of Hessville passed away peacefully at her residence, after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons:
Thomas D. (Sharon) Bevill of Griffith,
Marty W. (Donna) Bevill of Hammond and
James M. Bevill also of Hammond;
5 grandchildren: Jamie (Robbie) Stillwell,
Kimberly (Glen) Karwick, Ben (Rhiannon) Bevill,
Stacy (Kenny Randel) Bevill and Jimmy Bevill;
8 great grandchildren;
one sister, Gladys Wilson;
2 brothers, Lee Roy Dewberry and Freddy Jones;
several nieces, nephews; and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, James Thomas Bevill; two great grandchildren: Lillian and Angel Karwick; parents, Charles Dewberry and Pauline Jones; one brother, Ross Dewberry.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Betty Hunt
officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, March 17th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on December 11, 1931 in Boushier City, LA and was a resident of the Hessville section of Hammond for over 40 years. Evelyn was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family. She loved flowers and her home was filled with beautiful bouquets from her garden. One of her favorite pastimes was going to the "boats".
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, devoted great grandmother and a dear friend to many.
