Fern A. Stephenson, age 95, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter; Nancy (Carl) Hecht; son, Orvel John Stephenson; two grandchildren: Eileen (David) Maxwell and Michael (Deana) Hecht; eight great grandchildren: Brian (Melissa) Maxwell, Alex (Jennifer) Maxwell, Tim (Melissa) Maxwell, Elizabeth Maxwell, Alexandra, Kristen, Olivia, Amelia Hecht; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude (Robert) Clark; one sister in-law, Eleanor Pomplin; nieces, nephews; and many friends and wonderful neighbors.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Orvel M. Stephenson, parents: Fred and Gertrude Pomplun and four siblings: Edward, Ruth, Alvin and Fred and two nieces.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Concordia Lutheran Church, 7441 Grand Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Ronald Saatkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue (Hessville) and on Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Fern was born and raised in Hammond and a long time resident of  Hessville. She was a faithful active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She worked at several places and retired from the Dow Theory Company in Hammond, where she was a machine inserter. Fern looked forward to family gatherings; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Fern was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Family requests memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
