Frances "Aunt Fifi" McCree, age 86 of Hessville, entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis (Peggy) McCree of Logan, UT and Robert (Donna Fitzgerald) McCree of Palm Springs, CA;
2 daughters, Patricia (Kenneth) Carson of Lake Station, IN and Mary (John) Lindsey of New Carlisle, IN;
8 grandchildren: Rozalynd (Sean Shannon) McCree, Jason (fiancé, Antionette Vulpitta) Carson, Melissa Carson, Allison (fiancé, Brendan Martin) Lindsey, Russell McCree, Joshua (Serene) McCree, Marc Lindsey and Jordan McCree;
3 brothers: Joseph (Mary) Kras of Griffith; Al (late, Maybell) Kras of Highland and Leonard (late, Virginia) Kras of Lowell; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 1/2 years,
William L. McCree, Jr.; parents, Joseph and Anna Kras; 7 brothers: Julian (Josephine), Stephen (Lillian), Buck (Florence), Albert (Stephanie), Henry (Delores), Edward (Rose) and Peter Kras; sister, Helen (Andy) Zvyak.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Frances McCree will be held on Friday evening, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home. Burial at Concordia Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Frances was born and raised in Hammond and has made her home in the Hessville section for over 60 years. She was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and a past member of the Rosary Society. Frances retired in 1990 from Albert Given Manufacturing Co. after working as a seamstress for over 15 years. Aunt Fifi was a talented seamstress, loved to read, work jigsaw puzzles, was an avid Cubs fan and she bowled for over 50 years at Pin Bowl Lanes in Hessville.
Aunt Fifi was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Calumet.
