Frances C. Felus, age 87 of Hessville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
She is survived by one son, Tim (Denise) Felus of Schererville;
1 daughter, Pam (David) Hurst of Schererville;
9 grandchildren: Eric (Katie) Smith, Karissa (Drew) Gunter, Allison, Paul and Stephanie Felus, Micki (Josh) Biancardi, Casey (Eric) Allen, Nick (Sara) Felus and Pete (Farren) Felus;
12 great grandchildren: Daneille, Sabrina, Jonathan, Maddy, Bryce, Adri, Luke, Brady, Jeremiah, Mia, Lando and Jordy;
Brother, Rudy (Martha) Smith;
Sister, Emily Smith;
Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Felus; her son, Terry Felus; daughter-in-law, Sharon Felus; grandson, Justin Smith; parents, Frank and Helen Smith; brother, Dan Smith and sister, Joni (Bill) Bremer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, January 4th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Rosary Society will offer prayers on Friday afternoon  at 4:00 p.m.
There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the mass at 10:00 a.m.
Frances was born on August 11, 1925 in East Chicago. She was a 1943 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School and was in the first mid-term graduating class.
Fran moved to the Hessville section of Hammond in 1950 and has been a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She was a member of the Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #369. She was very active with St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a talented quilter.
Fran will be best remembered for her kindness toward others, her sweet spirit, her caring of her family and her deep and abiding faith in Christ.
