Fred A. Boswinkle

Hammond, IN

October 20, 1955 – May 20, 2024

Fred A. Boswinkle, age 68, of Hammond, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at Regency Specialty Hospital in St. Catherine's in East Chicago, IN.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years: Diane Boswinkle (nee Gould); his precious and beloved daughters: Rachel (Deud) Hallal of Hobart;  Allison (Adrian Mitchell) Boswinkle of Portage; and the bestest granddaughter ever, Jacqueline Hallal of Hobart; also surviving are  brother, David (Angela) Boswinkle; sister, Linda (Dewey) Hubbard, both of Hammond; special niece, Penny Nelson of Portage; as well as many aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Mathew and Joan (nee Thews) Boswinkle; sister, Cecilia Davis; brother: James Boswinkle, all of Hammond.

Fred was a lifelong resident of the region. He worked for over 40 years in the railroad industry as a signal maintainer for IHB, Conrail and Norfolk-Southern Railroads.

Bocken Funeral Home is entrusted with Fred's cremation, there will be no visitation or services. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Fred's name to Hammond Public Library Foundation, 564 State Street, Hammond, IN 46320.  The family wishes to sincerely thank Fred's caregivers at Regency and his wonderful Accent Home Health Care nurses, Karly Flynn and Lisa Medina and his Unity Palliative Care nurse Lisa Stephenson.
