George J. Husick, age 60, of Maricopa, Arizona formerly of Chicago and Cicero, IL passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
George is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Norma Jean (nee Cissna); children: George (Jessica) Corona, Jeremiah (Sylvia) Corona, Anita (Michael) Larain, Amanda Husick, Tom Husick, Michael Husick, Mary Husick, Igor Husick, Joshua Husick ; grandchildren: Alivia, Haley, Matt, Jeremiah Jr., Jasmine, Bianca, Sarah, Taylor, Ben, Cooper and Nicholas; sister: Kathleen Rose Husick; numerous and loving cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Joan Emily Husick.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cornerstone SBC Church, 3425 Orchard Drive, Hammond (Hessville) IN 46323. Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Face masks and social distancing guidelines will be required. Private burial will take place Friday at 10:45 a.m. directly at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
George was a graduate of Morton High School class of 1978, he worked at Yellow Freight for 30 years. He enjoyed coaching, baseball and football but wrestling was his main focus, at various schools, states and levels where he acquired the name Coach. After retiring from Yellow Freight he continued his education, earning an associate's degree from Morton College, a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and finally graduating Suma Cum Lan with a master's degree, B.S.W., M.S.W.,C.S.W. in social work from Chicago State University. George was a 4th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus Council 2349 and member of C.A.P. He cherished spending time with his family and doting on Norma, the love of his life. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
