George T. Papesh, age73, of Hammond passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence.
He is survived by his only brother; John (Dorothy) Papesh
Brother-in-law: Bert Stumpt
2 Nephews: Phillip (Renee) Papesh and Tommy Stumpt
3 Nieces: Suzanne Briski, Patricia Stumpt and Diane Lang
Several great nieces and great nephews
Preceded in death by parents; John and Ann Papesh and one sister; Irene Stumpt
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 with prayers at 9:15 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 570 Sibley, Hammond with Fr. Steve Kosinski celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, April 14th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 3 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
George was born in Whiting, IN on October 30, 1933 and was a 1952 graduate of Clark High School. He has been a faithful parishioner at All Saints Church for over 30 years.
George retired from the City of Hammond Sanitary District and was a member of the Retired Indiana Public Employees Assoc. George loved all sports and enjoyed going to the ballparks. He was a very generous and kind man and will be missed by his relatives and many friends.
