George H. "Lefty" Usselman, age 84, of Spooner, WI, formerly of Whiting passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
He is survived by three children: Norman Usselman,
Nancy (Jim) Pearce and Doreen Meyers;
11 grandchildren;
18 great grandchildren;
one great great grandson;
2 brothers: Bob Usselman and Joe Usselman;
2 nieces: Tracy (Martin)Martinez and Amy (Rob) Mecklin;
1 nephew, Joey Usselman;
great nieces, Danielle and Emily;
Preceded in death by his parents, George Howard and Doreen Usselman and his wife, Mary Ann.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday morning, January 14th at Bocken Funeral Home, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
George was born on October 28, 1929 in East Chicago and lived in Whiting until his retirement. He was a graduate of Clark High School, class of 1949. Lefty loved sports he played basketball and baseball in High School and in the Army. He was proud of his service in the Special Forces of the U.S. Army. Lefty worked as an electrician and retired from Youngstown Steel 29 years ago. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed.
