July 17, 1929 – December 21, 2021

Harold Lee Thomas, age 92, of Hammond formerly of Chicago and St. Louis, MO entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

He is survived by his wife Irene Jones; four daughters: Jeanee Howard, Janet (Charles) Ashley,  Joyce Griffin and Judy Griffin;  five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Hosia and Janice Thomas.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow at  12:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond IN, 46323. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.

Harold was born in St. Louis, Missouri where he spent most of his life. He was a proud Army Veteran having served during the Koran War. He was retired after working as a custodian at the St. Louis Psych and Rehab Center for 25 years. In his free time, Harold loved sports; football, basketball, baseball, bowling and horseshoes were some of his favorites.
