Helen R. Pokrajac, age 88 of Hessville was called home to Heaven on Friday, December 17, 2010..
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 wonderful Years Joe Pokrajac.
1 Daughter Beth (Jethro) Summers of Hessville 2 Sons James (Kathleen)Pokrajac of Griffith and Robert Pokrajac of Hammond. 4 Grandchildren Amy (Dan) Podobinski of Hebron, Melanie (Jeff) Fausch of Portage, Denise (Dave) McClure of Hammond and Kimberly Olmos of Hobart.
6 Great Grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews and great Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by her Parents August and Flora Jensen and Sister Virginia (P.F.) Pierce.
A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Helen was held on Wednesday December 22,2010 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville)with Rev. Zaki Zaki officiating with
Burial at Cedar Park Cemetery, Calumet Park, IL
Helen was born and raised in Chicago, IL and has lived in Northwest Indiana since 1955.Helen was a Crossing Guard at 165th & Kentucky for 19 Years, and served as Den Mother of a Cub Scott troop for several years. She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband Joe and sister Virginia. She was an active and devoted member of the East Side United Methodist Church . Helen was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who will be deeply missed. Memorials would be preferred to East Side United Methodist Church 11000 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago,IL 60617.
