Helen I. VanScoyk, age 92, of Hammond went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss three children: Kendall (Lori) VanScoyk, Donella "Joy" (Thomas) Huber, Dawn (Tony) Berg.
twelve grandchildren: Alisha, Mandy, Melanie, Aftin, Gus, John, Kristia, Andrew, Daniel, Christian, Autumn and Austin; ten great grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Bella, Landon, Jordy, Penny, Abbey, Nick and Alyssa;
one brother: Harold Liming;
three sisters-in-law: Joyce and Barbara Liming and Ellen Boos;
numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends and beloved dogs, Clark and Addison.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Chester Harold VanScoyk; parents, Carl and Ethel Liming;
brothers: Robert, Lloyd "Bud"and Donald "Joe" Liming; sister: Mildred VanGorp.
Helen was a long time faithful member of Hessville Assembly of God Church where she was involved in the Senior Adult Group. She was a huge fan of the World Champion Cubs and Chicago Bulls. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren were a delight in her life.
Services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at Life Point Church (formerly, Hessville Assembly of God), 7350 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond with Pastors Orlando Solar and Raymond Bocken officiating. Burial will take place Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. central time at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be viewing at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Helen was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
