Helen J, Okkonen, age 97, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2015.
She is survived by one son: Raymond (Elizabeth) Dikun;  three grandchildren: Raymond (Dawn), Kirk and Mitchell(Cheryl) Dikun; two great grandchildren: Sasha and Miles Dikun;

Daughter-in-law, Lucille Dikun; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kaveli Okkonen, son, Richard Dikun; parents, Zygmond and Mary Rozdzynski; three sisters: Mary (Walter) Dakin, Tillie (Joe) Golec and Estell (Albert) Dakin.

Helen was born and raised in Hammond; she had worked at Keys Fiber, Indiana Forge and Florentine Dress Shop. Helen was a member of the Women of Moose Hammond Chapter #120 and attended Hammond Christian Reformed Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.

As per her wishes funeral services at Bocken Funeral Home and inurnment at St. John Cemetery were private.
