Herta G. (nee, Rodig) Holt age 86, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (Jose) Arroyo of Hammond;

2 grandchildren: Lisa M. and Aaron L. Arroyo;

one great grandson, Mateo Arroyo;

one sister, Gertrude Feirer of Wels, Austria;

several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eunice L. "Tim" Holt; parents, Franz and Anna Rodig; brother, Karl (Katie) Rodig and sister, Liselotte (Joseph) Leeb.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville where Herta will be laid to rest next to her dear husband, Eunice. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday evening April 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Herta was born on Dec. 16, 1924 in Wels, Austria. She has lived a very interesting life. She fell in love and married an American Soldier and together they made their home in the Hessville section of Hammond since 1975. Herta was a devoted wife, mother and loving grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
