Irene (Greer) Wiggins, age 98 of Hammond, entered the gates of heaven on, Friday, June 16, 2011.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Charlene (Charles) Law and Spencer (Carol) Greer.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin ;

2 sons, Donald and Jeffrey Wiggins and 10 siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. James A. Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Monday morning at the funeral home for a time of viewing from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Irene was a lifetime resident of Hammond and a longtime faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hessville. She was a member of the ladies missionary society and the Leah circle at the church. Irene loved basketball, not only as a spectator but also as a player. She played basketball in high school and was an avid Chicago Bulls fan.
