Iva Mae Smith, age 84 of Dallas , Texas formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2010.

She is survived by her 3 sons: Terry (Ruthie) Smith,

Tom (Liz) Smith and Tim (Becky) Smith all of Dallas , Texas

11 Grandchildren

16 Great Grandchildren

Sister-in-law: Patricia (Bob) Honig of Justice, IL

One niece and one nephew

Preceded in death by her beloved husband; Glen Edwin Smith and parents; Thomas and Etta Hazen.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond .

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, August 20 ^th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Iva had been a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area before moving to Dallas to be near her family. She had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hammond for many years, where she was the superintendent of the Junior High Sunday School Dept. Iva had a beautiful smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
