Obituary

James David Duncan was born June 10 th , 1961, to James Stewart Duncan and Patricia Madden in Rolla, Missouri. His family returned to his mother's home in Scotland Known to friends and family as Jim or David, He had many interests. As a young man, he discovered fishing, which would remain one of his greatest passions. He loved the quiet and peacefulness of fishing and the enjoyment of casting, catching, and just taking in nature. Another love was music, and his range was all-inclusive. He would listen to everything to see if it was something he liked. Some of his favorites include Hawkwind, Earth Wind & Fire, Ozric Tentacles, Jill Scott, and his favorite…RUSH. He was mentored and became a chef in his 20's in Scotland, working at Inns and Hotels in both Scotland and England, where he would remain until his late 20's. Anyone who knew him would agree that his cooking skills were amazing.

Another one of Jim's great loves was Computers, and there was nothing he couldn't tell you about how to operate and troubleshoot many computer issues. After traveling abroad, Jim returned to America and studied computers, building a skillset that would later earn him degrees from Purdue Northwest and Western Governors University. He worked as a Systems Analyst for Southern Wine & Spirits and enjoyed many years there doing what he did best.

He met and later married Kimberly and enjoyed 32 wonderful years together with their three beautiful children Brittany, James, and Jason and many beloved pets along the way. He is survived by his devoted wife Kimberly, and their children Brittany, James, and Jason, and his siblings Linda, Peter, and Richard. Recently, Jim reconnected with his cousin Sara, and sharing pictures and remembering events from their childhoods brought him so much joy. He will also be remembered and missed by brothers and

sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Margaret), Karl (Karen), Karen, Kathy (Lance), and so many beloved Nieces and nephews. Jim later enjoyed a sense of community and studying the bible at The Hessville Bible Church while befriending many fellow members and learning more about the bible from Pastor David Kiesling. I will close with the thoughts of Jim… Whether by a booming voice, a kind and teaching manner, or talking politics, family, church, or friends…those who know Jim knew what he treasured, and our memories of him will remain treasures in our hearts. The pain of the flesh is now the peace in your spirit, endless fishing, and the love of your family and friends.
