James "Jim" Gerald Mikula, age 68 of Munster, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2012 at his home.
He is survived by one son, Joseph (Christine) Mikula of Dyer;
3 daughters: Justine (Scott) Paulin of Antioch, CA,
Judith (Martin) Morales of Hammond and
Theresa Mikula of Rapid City, SD;
4 grandchildren: Julia and Joshua Morales, Emaleth Mikula and Michael Leisz;
1 brother, Joseph V. (Joan) Mikula of Hammond;
many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Barbara (nee, Protolipac) Mikula; parents, Joseph and Antoinette Mikula and one sister, Joanne Ignas.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at
7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will be private.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday,
June 22nd at Bocken Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Jim was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and a
1963 graduate of Clark High School. He was a proud U. S. Army veteran and served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict. Jim was retired with over 30 years of service at Arcelor Mittal Steel as a journeyman electrician. He enjoyed outdoor sports, fishing, camping, golfing and bike riding. His favorite pastime was to spend time with his grandchildren. Jim was an avid Day Trader. Memorials may be made in Jim's memory to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
