James Paul Rochner, age 87, of Schererville, formerly of Hessville entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 24, 2013.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (James, Jr.) Beavers;
2 grandchildren: Sarah (Chris) Eaves
and Joshua Lambert;
2 sisters: Edna (late, Elmer) Geswein
Virginia (Bobby) Renn;
2 nieces: Karen (late, Chuck) Craft
Betty Jo
7 great nieces and nephews.
Awaiting him in Heaven is his beloved wife, Isabelle Genovese Rochner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Jim Utley               officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, October 28th at Bocken Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Jim was a resident of the Hessville section of Hammond for over 50 years, before moving to Schererville eight years ago to be near his daughter. He attended Family Christian Center in Munster. Jim was a pipefitter and retired in 1983 from L.T.V. Steel after 30 years of service. He resented retirement and spent many hours walking and reading his newspapers. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, "Go Cubbies". Jim was a hard worker and a good provider who was dedicated to his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed.
