Jane M. Hoelzel (nee Stanislawski) age 94 passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the home of her son James S. (Carol) Hoelzel of Hammond. Along with her son and daughter-in-law she is survived by her grandchildren: Adam Hoelzel of Los Angeles, CA and Jessica Hoelzel (fiancé Jason DeBoer) of Cedar Lake, IN; her sister-in-law Laurie Beaulieu; nephews: Kenneth Sadler, Thomas Roman, Toby Stan, Randy Stan, George Hoelzel Jr., Lawrence Beaulieu and Christopher Beaulieu; nieces: Wendy Schwandt, Janet Albert, Geraldine DeRienzo and Margery Hodgetts; as well as many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. In addition, she was embraced by Steve and JoAnn Buksar as part of their family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Emmett; parents, Steve and Lillian Stanislawski; brother Edward Stan; sisters, Irene Sadler and Adele Roman; and niece Dolores Sadler.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will take place at 9:00 AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave, Hammond (Hessville) followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond.
Mrs. Hoelzel was a member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Raised in the Sunnyside section of East Chicago, Jane and Emmett lived in that city's Marktown section and attended St. Patrick's parish.
Jane took pride in being a homemaker, loved to garden, to play poker and pinochle with friends, and most of all she loved her family.
