Janice E. Turner

(née Casey)

On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Janice E. (Casey) Turner, loving wife, mother, and Nana, passed away at the age of 65 surrounded by family. Janice was born in Hammond, IN on May 16, 1957 to Guy and Laverne (Thackston) Casey. She married John on March 13, 1977; they raised one son, Joshua, and three daughters, Anji, Lisa, and Sara. Janice had an overall passion for music. Much of her life was spent singing, playing the piano, and listening to a variety of music. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, taking time to enjoy food, love, and laughter. She was a kind soul who loved God, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Jan was preceded in death by her father, Guy, her mother, Laverne, and her brother, William. She is survived by her husband, John, her daughters, Anji (Kevin) Peardon, Lisa (Matthew) Ferry, Sara Turner, her son, Joshua (Jessica) Turner, her brother, Ron, and her sister, Debra, as well as her nine grandchildren: Elijah, Johnathan, Michael, Jesse, Liam, Donovan, Zoey, Noah, and Kaylee. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, February 5, 2023, for visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, IN. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Chapel Lawn in Schererville, IN.
