Jay P. Kimmel, age 74, of Hammond, went to his heavenly home on his birthday, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 after years of suffering.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Donna J. (nee, Petroskey) Kimmel;

5 children: Jay P. Kimmel; Kelly Erymam;

Daniel (Barbara) Relinski; Jeff Relinski and Pam (Steve) Petho;

7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild;

1 sister, Deena Tanses; 2 brothers: David and Bruce Duma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nellie Duma and 2 daughters-in-law, Donna Kimmel and Jami Relinski.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, June 16 ^th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Jay was a lifetime resident of Hammond and a graduate of Morton High School class of 1955. He was a former member of Orchard Drive Baptist Church in Hessville.

Jay was a Sheet Metal worker for over 30 years and was a member of Local #20. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Jay was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
