Jean S. Mescall, age 88, of Hammond, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, John Mescall; four children: David Novak, Richard (Ginny) Novak, Darlene (Bob) Fultz and Terri (John) Goodman; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Charleton; son, Jerry Novak; daughter in-law, Laura Novak; brother, Jack Charleton.

Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Chapel Lawn   Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Schererville.

Jean was a long time resident of the Region and enjoyed being part of the Red Hat Society. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her butter cookies and lasagna. In her spare time Jean would tend to her beautiful garden. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by many.
