Jeffrey Spence, age 62, of Hammond passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

He is survived by his fiancée and soulmate of twenty-four years: Sherry Lynne Burgess; stepchildren: Randy Burgess Jr. and Michael Burgess; grandfather of many; brother: Billy Spence; many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: William Sr. and Betty Spence; and his dog, Buddy .

Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial visitation on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond IN, 46323.

Jeff was a lifetime resident of the region; he grew up in Highland where he graduated from Highland High School. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher. He also loved to spend time on his motorcycle riding around town or going on charitable rides for the Veterans or good causes. Jeff also loved his job as welder and would always be willing to help others. He will be deeply missed by all knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to help with funeral expenses would be appreciated.
