Jerome "David" Hensley, Jr. age 60, of Highland, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Munster.  He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Eileen Hensley (nee Jewett) of Highland; sisters: Carri (Bill) Cole of Highland, Diane Hensley of Highland, Kelly Hensley of Lexington, KY, and Carol Schaap of Highland; one daughter, Amber (Michael) Shumate of Royal, IL;  grandchildren: Aidan, Ericka, Eithan, and Jayson, all of Royal, IL; one niece and many nephews and his life-long childhood friend, Darrell La Bounty.

David was a graduate of Highland High School, class of 1975. David was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he trained as a jet mechanic then went on to be in the Transportation Industry as a dispatcher/truck driver.  In his younger days David loved to hunt, fish, go bowling and was a big prankster. He was well loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Steve Kosinski officiating.
