Jessie Lou Newton, age 67, of Roselawn entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday, July 31, 2014.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Ronald W. Newton.

Two loving daughters; Cyndi (Curt) Holt and Heather (Peter) Carey.

Four Grandchildren; Curtis Holt, Kaylynn Holt, Skyler Carey and Cooper Carey,

one brother, Sam "Butch" (Angie) Manter,

several nieces, nephews, great nieces , nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Sammie and Betty Manter.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 11am at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, (Hessville) with Pastor Michael Matiscik officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends our invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home on Monday August 4,2014 from 2.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m.

Jessie was born and raised in Hammond and is an alumni of Hammond Tech High School.

Jessie enjoyed playing bunco, painting ceramics, and shopping; she was a lifetime member of the Foresters and was a true blue Colts fan. She spent her whole life tending to those she loved and being a "Ma" to all. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be truly missed.
