Joan Marie Lipkovitch, age 68, of Hessville passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lipkovitch;
son, Lawrence (Suzette) Lipkovitch;
2 grandchildren, Logan and Savannah Lipkovitch;
mother, Ann Hudzik;
2 sisters, Lauren (Tim) Brown and Kathleen (Mourad) Hosni; several nieces and nephews .
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Steve H. Lipkovitch and her father, Edward Hudzik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church,, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the mass at 11:00 a.m.
Joan was born on February 4, 1943 in Hegwisch, IL. She was a 1961 graduate of Morton High School and a longtime faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
She was an excellent cook, gardener and loved working craft projects with her grandchildren. Joan always put her family first she was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
