Joe P. Martinez, age 56, of Cedar Lake was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2022. He is survived by his loving mother, Aida L. Martinez; siblings: Ramiro (late Patricia) Perez, Linda (Gianni) Calvopina, Rich Martinez, Federico (Daniel Martin) Martinez Jr., Marlena (Benny) Espinoza; nieces and nephews: Ruben (Becki), Joseph (Shana), Tony (Beth), Christopher, Reyna, Ryan; great nieces and nephews: Bella, Laila, Tony Jr., Ashton, Addy, Cameron, Kelsey and Jase; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends including his companion, Terry McCoy.

Preceded in death by his father Federico Martinez Sr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Joe Best, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, August 20, 2022, for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Joe was born in Hammond and has lived in the Cedar Lake area for the past 40 years. He loved his job as a supervisor at Innovation Energy Inc. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love for his huskies and good food. Joe was huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and loyal friend who will be dearly missed.
