Joel David Brown, Jr., age 22, of Hessville, ended his battle with leukemia on Thursday, January 14, 2016.
He is survived by his loving family:
parents: Joel David, Sr. and Patsy L. Brown;
brothers and sisters: Robert (Debi) Anderson, Patrick (Diane) Reynolds, Melissa (Ed) Brakebill, Nicole (Scott) Sherer, Beau Reynolds and Tinera Brown;
Grandfather, Omer J. Dye;many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary B. Dye,
Leola and George P. Brown.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond with Pastor Joe Best officiating. Private burial will follow the service.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Monday, January 18th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Joel was born and raised in Hammond and was a graduate of Morton High School, class of 2011. He was employed at Oil Exchange in St. John as an oil tech. Joel attended Cline Fellowship Church. He loved cars, especially Ford Mustangs. He played baseball for Morton High School, and played in the Hessville Little League and for the Hessville Babe Ruth. Joel loved to bowl and belonged to the Tuesday Pin Spinners at Plaza Lanes. He was a big Chicago White Sox fan. Joel had a great personality and was loved by everyone who knew him, and will be dearly missed.
