John Terrence Liesenfelt, age 77, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Liesenfelt (nee Wolfenberger;
1 Son, James (Holly) Liesenfelt of West Melbourne, FL;
3 Daughters: Heidi Owens of Hammond, Barbara (Paul) Martin of Wendover, England and Vicki Liesenfelt of Chicago, IL;
10 Grandchildren: Andrew, Michael, Chris, Danny, Jamie, Tracy, John, Kelly, Peter and Nathaniel;
1 Brother, Charles Farrell (Pauline)Liesenfelt of Knapp, WI and brother-in-law, Chuck (Ellen) Wolfenberger of Cincinnati, OH;
2 nieces, 2 nephews and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by 2 sons: John David and Thomas William Liesenfelt and his parents, Raymond and Mayme Liesenfelt.
Funeral services  will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Fr. Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.               Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Bocken Funeral Home, from 2:oo pm until 8:00pm.
John was a life time resident of Hammond and a 1952 graduate of Hammond  High School . He was a proud U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of  the Hammond Jaycee's. John was a retired security guard from Ultra grocer and more recently a school crossing guard at 171st and Marshall. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, IU and "da Bears". He enjoyed collecting Disney and other memorabilia. John was a member of the Griffith Barnstormers where he enjoyed flying model airplanes. He also enjoyed reading and bike riding and completed the Bike the Drive Chicago in 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed.
Memorials to the Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue, Munster, IN 46321 or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church "Roof Fund" 7132 Arizona Ave. Hammond, IN 46323 would   be appreciated.
