John P. Tampauskas, age 64, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann T. Tampauskas (Nee Beda), 3 daughters; Pamela (Daniel) Rodriguez, Ann Marie (James) Curavo and Jennifer (Jarrett) Jones,

5 Grandchildren; Patricia, Dezirey, Kassandra, Abigail and Ximena,

2 brothers in-law; Peter Beda and Steve (Anna) Beda, cousin Ray (Grazina) Tompauskas and n umerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Brone Tampauskas and 2 brothers; Ralph and Vyto Tampauskas.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Charles Mosley officiating. Private cremation will follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, August 16, 2014 for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

John was born in Germany and raised in East Chicago, he is a graduate of Washington High School class of 1968 and IUN in 1972 with a degree in education. John married the love of his life Ann in 1971 and they have lived in Hammond the past 37 years. He was retired from ArcelorMittal formerly Youngstown LTV Steel as a foreman after 44 years of service. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with his wife,but most of all spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

John was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and brother in law who will be dearly missed.
