Jose Carlos Martinez, age 50 of Hessville passed away  on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
He is survived by  his loving wife of 17 years Eloisa Martinez (Nee Gil). Children;Carlos, Angelica, Biridiana, Carla and Andres Martinez.Parents Salvador and Linda Martinez.Siblings; Ana (Ruben) Sanchez, Salvador (Dulce) Martinez, Sandy (Chris) Flores and Leo (Patty) Martinez.Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, January 31st at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the mass at 10:00 a.m.
Carlos was a long time resident of the region having graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, IN, he was employed as a welder for Boilermakers Local 374.
Carlos will be best remembered for his hospitality toward others, as he enjoyed cooking out for his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother and will be dearly missed. Memorials to the family would be preferred.
