Joseph A. Szilagyi, age 33, of Hammond, IN passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 11, 2025.

He is survived by his parents, Jozsef (Deborah) Szilagyi (nee Klisiak); siblings: Philip W. Herrman and Maxwell P.G. Szilagyi; aunts: Linnae Kowalczyk and Donna Pierce; uncle, Kenneth Pierce; numerous cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his grandparents: Joe (Mary) Szilagyi; Donald (Janelle) Pierce and Harry (Mary) Klisiak.

JoeJoe was a graduate of Morton High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching and playing football and shooting hoops. Most of all he looked forward to spending time with family and hanging out with his childhood friends. He was always willing to help everyone and had a very big heart and beautiful smile.

Cremation service entrusted to Bocken Funeral Home, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 12,2025 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 168 at 6849 Columbia Ave. Hammond, IN 46324.
