Joseph Korba, age 89, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
He is survived by his 2 children:
Joseph (Gina) Korba and Judy (Robert) Sahulcik;
4 grandchildren: Shawn, Jenny, Michelle and Sarah;
3 great grandchildren;
Several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years,
Phyllis D. Korba, (nee, Jaeger); son, John Allen Korba; daughter, Joann Korba Graham; 1 granddaughter, Rebekah; parents, John and Katie Korba; 2 brothers: Peter and Walter Korba; 2 sisters: Irene Barney and Barbara Detvay.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday morning, October 5th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
Joe was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. He retired in 1985 from Blaskovich Chevrolet after 45 years of service. He enjoyed going to the "boats" to gamble. Joe was a loving father and grandfather; his family will miss him.
