Joseph John Maliziola, age 84 of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Monday February 23, 2015 at the William J. Riley Residence in Munster.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Therese B. Maliziola (nee Nowak); six children: Joseph (Linda) Maliziola Jr., John (Lori) Maliziola, Susan Kramer, Sharon (Steve) Lasseigne, Jeff (Carol) Maliziola and Jim (Marzena) Maliziola; 11 grandchildren: Heather (Jeff), Johnny, Chris, Traci, Keith, Jeff Jr., Holly (Steve), Danielle, Stephanie, Alex and Megan; 3 step grandchildren: Mike, Jennifer and Jessica; 1 great grandchild: Benjamin; many nieces nephews and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Antonio and Angela Maliziola and several siblings.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Private cremation services were entrusted to Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, (Hessville).
Joe was born and raised in East Chicago, IN; he was a 1948 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School. He has been a long time resident of Hessville section of Hammond and attended St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Joe enjoyed anything to do with automobiles and made his career as an automobile salesman, most recently working out of Heritage Motor Sales in Hammond. When he wasn't working he spent time watching television. Joe was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and one of his favorite shows was Married With Children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.
