Joseph Paul Moryas, age 84, of Hammond, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 11, 2015.
He is survived by his children: Dennis (Pamela) Phelps,

Ronald (Tabitha) Phelps and Laura (Edward) Deering;

6 grandchildren: Amanda (Dan) Coleman, Ashley (William) Figueroa, Stefanee Phelps, Katheren, Shayla and George Deering;

one great grandchild, Kinley Coleman; sister, Lillian (Joel) Bolkovatz.

Numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Donna Arlene Moryas (Nee Blank); parents, Paul and Frances Muryasz, siblings; Stelle, Walter and Edward.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 16,  2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Ron Richmond officiating. Burial will follow at  St John- St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday September 15, 2015 from 3-8 p.m.

Murph was a resident of the Hessville Area for over 40 years. He was employed at Inland Steel for 41 years and was a member of the 25-year Club. He was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War and member of the American Legion Post 369. Murph was also a member of the Goodfellows Club of East Chicago. He enjoyed spending

time with family, watching sports on TV and cheering on the Cub's and Bear's.

Murph was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
