Josephine Marie Wagner, age 78, of Highland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2011.

She is survived by 3 siblings: Michael (Pauline) Wagner,

Annie (Clyde) Zabrowski and Anthony (Alice) Wagner;

2 sisters-in-law: Maggie Wagner and Yvonne Milam; beloved nephew, Joseph, his wife, Rebecca and their dear baby girl, Jolene; numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends; including special

caregivers, her nieces: Geraldine Basso and Teresa Puszkiewicz.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Wojnar; 8 siblings: Frank (Florence) Wojnar, Ted (Beverly), Stanley, Chester, Mary, John, Raymond and Roy Wagner.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Edward Moszur, officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Il. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, August 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 2:30 p.m.

Josie was born on June 28, 1933 in Whiting and was raised in the Hessville section of Hammond. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland. Josie worked as a millwright at Inland Steel and retired after 30 years of service. After her retirement she worked for the Highland Schools in the cafeteria as a "lunch lady". She was a hard worker until her illness slowed her down 7 years ago. Josie enjoyed gardening and was a Nascar fan, she adored Jeff Gordon as well as being Joe's Sunday mechanic. Her favorite pastime was playing with her sweet baby, Jolene.
