Joshua Daniel Cotts, age 31, of Hammond, passed away as a result of a tragic accident early on Monday, August 18, 2014 in Baltimore, Maryland.

He is survived by his loving parents; Jody and John Cotts,

4 siblings; Jennifer (John) Tatum, Jonathan (Erica) Cotts, Joanna (Eric) Testi and Jason Cotts, grandmothers; Patricia J. Chambers and Virginia Cotts, nieces and nephews; Lydia, Liza, Aaron and Alaina Testi, John Tatum V and Sabastian Cotts.

Numerous aunts, uncles and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his grandfathers; Albert L. Chambers and James Cotts and 2 nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Michael Eberly officiating. Burial at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point will follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, August 22, 2014 for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Josh was born in Rockford, Illinois but spent his entire life in Hammond; he is a graduate of Calumet Baptist High School class of 2001. He worked as an electrician for Retrotec Systems. Josh enjoyed watching and playing baseball, golf and billiards; he was a member of the American Billiard Association. He loved music and playing his guitar and was a faithful Chicago Sports fan cheering on the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.

Joshua was a very loving and caring son, brother, uncle, grandson and nephew who will be dearly missed.
